Walker was born in 1976 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, United States of America. She is of African American heritage, and is an American. She is the daughter of Harvey Welker, a Native American father, as well as Julie Welker, an African American mother. Her mother works as an agent in real estate while her father works as engineer. Walker has graduated from Germantown Friends School situated in Philadelphia's Germantown district in 1994. She attended Harvard College, where she obtained a Bachelors in Arts degree. Welker was married John Hughes in Philadelphia, who was an acclaimed marketing director. They have two daughters. The couple started an affair during 2014, when they were together. John her husband is a year younger than her. They were enjoying their relationship which is why they chose to continue their relationship. The 4th of March, 2017, they were married. They got married at the city of Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Their wedding reception was in the Hyatt. Only family and close friends were invited. The event was attended by about 300 guests.
