Salma Hayek
Salma Hayek is a Mexican-American actress born to Syrian-Lebanese parents. Salma Hayek was born in Mexico into a rich Roman Catholic family. The young girl was influenced when she was a child to be an actress by the classic film "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory'. The time she spent at Mexico City's Universidad Iberoamericana prepared her for a career in movies. Her first performance was in the part in the Mexican TV show "Teresa." In Hollywood she got the part of Antonio Banderas's co-star in 'Desperado. Others roles followed, such as "Fools Riding In" as well as Wild Wild West.' In the movie 'Once Upon a time in Mexico She reprised her role as 'Desperado. Later, she founded her own production firm called Ventanarosa. She was the producer of the Mexican film 'El Coronel Teiene Queen Escriba". This was the country's entry to the Oscars for the category of 'Best Foreign Film.' Executive producer for 'Ugly Betty'.
